Takeaway and delivery

Takeaway and delivery,
from your venue and with your own staff

The guest orders from the Plathea app, you accept at the counter, the kitchen works and the receipt goes out by itself. No portal in between and no third-party courier: the guest stays yours and the rider is yours.

How it works

From the order to the door, inside the flow you already use

1
The guest orders from the app
From your venue’s page in the Plathea app, choosing takeaway or delivery, the time slot and one of the payment methods you allow. They can remove ingredients and add paid extras, if you let them.
2
You accept at the counter
The order lands in the orders page: you accept or refuse it within the response time you set. If you prefer, acceptance can be automatic.
3
The kitchen works, the till follows
The order enters the flow you already know. When it is ready, with card payment the money is captured and the commercial document goes out by itself.
4
Pick-up or delivery
For takeaway the guest comes to collect. For delivery the run goes to a rider on your staff, who sees the address with floor and doorbell and how much to collect at the door.
Your rules

You decide how far, when and how

Takeaway and delivery are two separate channels: you can switch on just one, and give each its own rules.

Delivery zones
Maximum distance in kilometres, measured as the crow flies from the venue. You can add postcodes, but they are optional: leave them empty and only distance counts.
Delivery cost
Per zone, VAT included. Zero means free delivery, and you can make it free above a spend threshold.
Minimum order
Per channel: takeaway and delivery can have different thresholds. Zero means no minimum.
Time slots and capacity
Slots every so many minutes, with a cap of orders per slot if you want. The shifts are your dining-room shifts: you can switch one off for the channel or give it its own capacity.
Notice and days ahead
How many minutes of minimum notice, and how many days ahead people can order: from today only up to six days.
Acceptance and response time
Manual or automatic, with the time you have to answer. Once that time runs out the order cancels itself and the guest pays nothing.
Payment methods
Card at the time of ordering is always there. Cash on pick-up or on delivery only if you switch it on.
Who assigns the deliveries
The system on its own, or the counter by hand with the suggestion already prepared. Up to five stops per run.
Dish customisation
From food cost you decide which ingredients the guest can remove and which paid extras they can add.
The rider

The rider is yours, not a platform’s

Delivery is done by your own staff: there is a «Rider» staff role with the delivery permission. In «My deliveries» they see the run and the departure time, the address with floor and doorbell, the button to call the guest and the one to open their phone’s maps, and how much to collect at the door. At the end of the day they have the total cash collected to hand back at the counter. Who is on duty is ticked by the counter, not by the rider.

The commission, plainly

3% on orders, and nothing on the rest

Minimum €0.50 per order, VAT excluded, from 7 October 2026. It applies with any payment method — card, the venue’s own terminal or cash — and is calculated on the order total, delivery cost included. With a card the cut goes through Stripe at the moment you collect; with cash or terminal it accrues and you find it on the monthly Promethea Account invoice.

Orders you refuse, that expire without an answer or that get cancelled accrue no commission. Reservations stay commission-free, and the table QR has none.

What you need

Four things, all on your side

The Cash register add-on
Takeaway and delivery belong to whoever has the Cash register, on any plan; the Business plan includes it. They are not available on the free profile.
The fiscal till configured
Without the fiscal configuration completed guests cannot order: every order issues a commercial document.
The venue’s location
The profile needs coordinates: without them runs cannot be computed and home delivery does not start.
A rider on duty
For delivery you need at least one rider ticked on duty that day. If there is none, the guest sees that you are not delivering at the moment.
What it does not do

Said upfront, not afterwards

No live tracking
There is no map inside Plathea with the rider moving: the guest gets the expected arrival time, and the rider uses their own phone’s maps.
Zones as the crow flies
The radius is measured as the crow flies, not along the road: a five-kilometre zone can contain addresses that are further to drive.
Ordering happens in the app, with an account
The guest orders from your venue’s page in the Plathea app, not from the restaurant’s website, and an account with a phone number is required.
The address goes through OpenStreetMap
To place the point on the map the guest’s address is geolocated via OpenStreetMap. If an address cannot be located, the delivery order cannot be completed.
FAQ

Questions about takeaway and delivery

Who does the delivery?

Your own staff. Plathea has no fleet and uses no third-party couriers: you assign the delivery to someone on your staff with the «Rider» role, and the run is prepared by the system or by the counter.

Can guests order from my restaurant’s website?

No. Takeaway and delivery orders start from your venue’s page in the Plathea app, where the guest has an account. From the website come reservations, not orders.

What does it cost me?

3% of the order, minimum €0.50, VAT excluded, from 7 October 2026, with any payment method and on the total including delivery. With a card it is withheld at collection; with cash or the venue’s terminal it ends up on the monthly invoice. Reservations stay commission-free.

What if the guest does not collect the order or cannot be found?

The bill closes anyway: the food was prepared and the money stays yours, so the commission on that order remains due. This is different from an order you refuse, that expires without an answer or that gets cancelled: in those cases nothing is paid.

Can I accept cash?

Yes, if you switch it on, separately for takeaway and for delivery. If you leave it off, payment is card-only at the time of ordering. The cash the rider collects is handed back at the counter, and the day’s total is on their page.

Do I need a particular plan?

You need the Cash register add-on, which activates on any plan and is included in Business, plus the fiscal till configured. On the free profile takeaway and delivery are not available.

Open your own channel, with no middlemen

The restaurant profile is free and never expires. Takeaway and delivery come with the Cash register add-on, on any plan.
